Description: these insects have a pair of scaled wings, a pair of halteres, a slender body, and long legs.
Habitats: Worldwide; harmful in Africa, Asia and North America
Behavior: The female mosquito (in almost all species) sucks the blood of mammals, including humans. Mosquito bites can transmit diseases, such as Malaria, Dengue and West Nile Virus
Fatalities per year: 2-3 millions
How to avoid: use special sprays and lotions. Wear long clothes in the evening.
